Have you ever had these before? I recently discovered them at Target and have decided that these are my new favorite chips + these are pretty healthy! At the time, Target had a bag on sale for $2. As the name states, these chips are literally popped instead of being baked or fried, which allows them to retain all the flavor without the fat or preservatives. These chips are light and crisp and can satisfy any craving for something salty or crunchy. Popchips come in a variety of flavors: original, barbeque, sour cream & onion, cheddar, sea salt & vinegar, salt & pepper, and parmesan garlic. I’ve had the sea salt & vinegar and cheddar flavors so far. Both were delicious, but I preferred the sea salt & vinegar because that’s my favorite chip flavor.
Nutritional stats for 1 oz (22 chips) of Popchips Original flavor: 120 calories, 4 g fat (0 g trans fat, 0 g saturated fat)
in comparison to:
Nutritional stats for 1 oz (15 chips) Lay’s Original flavor: 150 calories, 10 g fat (1 g saturated fat)
Nutritional stats for 1 oz Lay’s Baked flavor: 120 calories, 2 g fat
So these chips would make a good replacement to any regular potato chip and a good substitute for any baked potato chip (because of the better flavor and less preservatives).
Also, I really like their slogan “Love. without the handles.”
